Zumba, Art & Fun

Grades K-2

Our Zumba classes are high-energy dance parties packed with kid-friendly Latin music and age appropriate games and routines that foster respect, team work, self-esteem and leadership.

We break down the steps (merengue, hip-hop, Latin rock, cumbia and more), add games, art projects, cultural exploration elements and Spanish vocabulary into the class structure.

Dinner Club

by Rainy Day Dinner Club

Grades 1-5

CLASS FULL

You don’t have to make dinner tonight! Each week, students learn basic cooking skills while making dinner for their family! ​ Students will create delicious dishes focusing on the importance of local ingredients, scratch cooking, and natural preservatives while practicing knife skills and kitchen safety.  Kids will sample meals and the ingredients involved and will provide their family with dinner!

 

As students follow recipes, they will learn the science behind the use of different ingredients involved and the important role herbs, spices and veggies play in flavoring our favorite dishes. Each entrée will serve 4 to 6 and will be packaged in oven ready cookware with baking instructions. All new recipes this session!  For more info please visit rainydaydinnerclub.com No nuts are used in recipes.  Vegetarian option by request. Sorry, gluten and dairy free is not an option.

Bricks Challenge

Grades 1-3

The objective of Bricks Challenge course is to impart theoretical and applied knowledge in the field of STEM by using LEGO® and other exciting tools. Students will learn mathematics and physical principles through intuitive study; develop their independent learning; and improve their building skills. Once the concepts have been demonstrated, students enjoy hands on building the LEGO®
models which provides experiential learning and reinforces the lessons.

Theme this session: Classical Mechanics

What we will learn this session!!!
Powers and principles in physics: Speed increasing and power increasing transmissions, drive and driven pulleys, centrifugal force and centripetal force, mass and gravity and angular momentum.

Models built in class: Windmill, Power plant, Crane, Elevator and many more!!

Famous scientific and philosophical figures: Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein.

RoboBricks

Grades 4-5

The course objective is to introduce the students to theoretical and practical
aspects of the fields of Technology, Software Engineering, Math and Entrepreneurship.
The course develops algorithmic thinking and program implementation, using
the LEGO® WeDo graphic programming. During each lesson, students will
build a robot using LEGO® parts and program it according to the required
functionality. The course objective is achieved when the students design a software and
mechanical engineering project, study its market and use rhetorical methods
to make a successful presentation.
